Since 2000, Brassica Protection Products (BPP) has been developing ways to deliver consistent and high concentrations of glucoraphanin, also known as sulforaphane glucosinolate (SGS). Scientific studies revealed that this compound, when broken down to its active form, sulforaphane, acts as a long-lasting antioxidant that detoxifies carcinogens in the body.

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine has received many patents for this SGS-enhanced broccoli sprout discovery, and the University licensed these patents so that broccoli sprouts could be carefully monitored to ensure they contain optimal levels of SGS. These fresh broccoli sprouts are now available to the public as BroccoSprouts® featuring the SGS logo at supermarkets and other specialty markets.
